Radiohr is a new online, self-governed radiostation in the orbit of Institut HyperWerk at HGK Basel. Radiohr was developed during a workshopseries with RadioEE.net (Agustina Woodgate, Stephanie Sherman, Hernan Woodgate and Florencia Curci)
As Radiohr just started working together and are still in the chaos of making an eight hour broadcast work, we didn’t formulate yet what exactly is our intention for broadcasting. But what brought us together was the interest in independent publishing, our playfulness when creating something, the endless love for music and sound and a strong need to express our opinions about the society surrounding us today.
We are broadcasting mainly in swissgerman, german and english. We are interacting with our listeners on Telegram and Instagram. We are open for contributions, criticism and feedback, as we are still developing this radio.
We are a group of people who grew up in Europe, have access to a higher education and study in the design field. Some of us are cis-gendered and hetero, some of us are queer. Some of us are white, some are people of color. Some of us do a lot of carework for families and realtionships, some only mainly care for themselves. All of us only experience a few barriers in our everyday lives, because we mostly meet the society’s expectations towards bodies and brains. So: Some of us have many privileges and we try to be aware of this fact and reflect on how it influences our perspectives and our output.
